Free Will & Grace: Theological and Philosophical Course
What does it really mean to be free? How does God's grace work with our own choices? This residential CEPHAS course explores one of the deepest questions in Catholic theology through the thought of St Thomas Aquinas, offering an accessible introduction to the relationship between human freedom, divine grace, conscience, providence, and the problem of evil. Across four days, you'll take part in lectures, workshops, discussion groups, and guest talks, all within a rhythm of daily Mass, the Divine Office, and communal prayer. No prior background in philosophy or theology is required, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the Catholic intellectual tradition while sharing the experience with others in the peaceful surroundings of Theodore House at Stonyhurst.
A Seat at the Table | August Supper Club
Come and take your place at the table. A Seat at the Table is an intimate supper gathering for Catholics in their 30s and 40s who are looking for meaningful connection and community beyond Mass. Over good food and guided conversation, we create a relaxed space to meet other Catholics, share faith and simply enjoy being around the table together. Our Lady of Vailankanni 9 Day Novena
Join us for Our Lady of Vailankanni 9 Day Novena starting Sunday 30th August with Parish Mass at 5:30 pm followed by Novena Prayers. Masses and Novena prayers continue nightly through Tuesday 8th September, the Feast of Our Lady, which includes a candle-light procession in the Parish Garden. Everyone is welcome to join these prayers and Mass celebrations.
Celebration of St Faustina Birthday
We invite you to a reflection day celebrating the birthday of St Faustina at Aylesford Priory. The day includes teachings on the Divine Mercy message, Holy Mass, Hour of Mercy with Adoration and Benediction, and veneration of the image of Merciful Jesus. All are welcome. Oratory Church Young Adults Tour
On Bank Holiday Monday, 31st August, a Father of the Oratory will will give a tour of the Oratory Church for members of the Young Adults' Group. The tour will provide a history of the Oratory, highlight some of the key features in the Church, and will also include an opportunity to see a selection of items behind the scenes in the Sacristy, with commentary from the Oratory's Ceremoniere. Owing to space limitations in certain chapels and in the Sacristy, prior registration is required, and the group size is limited to 25, so please register soon if you would like to come. The tour will start at the back of the Church at 2pm and conclude by 5pm. There is no charge for the tour but a donation to the Oratory is encouraged.
Young Adults Adoration, Mass & Barbecue
Young Adults ages 18-35 are invited to Our Ladye Star of The Sea in Greenwich for a young adults Adoration, Mass and Barbecue. Adoration of the Holy Eucharist will begin at 6pm, followed by mass at 7pm and a barbecue in the presbytery at 7:45pm. As always, all attendees are welcome to invited friends be they of any faith or none. We hope these socials will be a great way to invite the curious to explore the Catholic faith.
