About This Event

It’s movie night! 🎬 Join us as we watch Open Your Eyes (1997), a mind-bending Spanish drama that explores what happens when everything that defines us like beauty, success, love, even reality itself starts to fall apart. It explores themes of beauty, identity, vanity, self-perception, longing to be loved as well as the fear of losing what makes us feel valuable. After the movie, we’ll open up the space for conversation to reflect on: 1. What does our culture teach us to value in ourselves? 2. What happens when our self-image becomes more important than reality? 3. Where do we root our identity when looks, approval, success, or control fall apart? This term's theme is Identity and the Image of God. Who are we when the things we rely on to feel whole are stripped away? Where do we find our worth when our reflection no longer matches who we think we are? Expect an evening of film, food, and conversation as we dive into questions of self, illusion, and what it truly means to be made in the image of God. 🍿 Snacks and good company included. Come ready to think, discuss, and see with new eyes. 👀
