You’ve asked and we’ve listened! Following feedback from the previous hike, we’ve made the May Hike tougher. It’s definitely a more challenging trail, being roughly twice the distance of the previous hike while also being more hilly. To help us get through this hike, we’ll be asking our Blessed Mother to assist us during our first break, so be sure to bring your rosary! The aim is to start the hike from Dorking Station. We will be taking a direct train from London Waterloo to Dorking station, departing at 08:23 and arriving at Dorking station at 09:14. Feel free to join at London Waterloo, or meet at Dorking station or at any other point in between. As this is a circular route, I’d suggest purchasing an open return ticket to give you the flexibility to return to London Waterloo at any time during the day, just in case you wanted to stay behind for drinks after the hike for example. The hike itself should take roughly 7 hours, planning for a total of 8 hours including breaks. This means the hike will end at roughly 17:00/17:30. I’d suggest bringing plenty of water as always, something substantial for lunch, and some snacks/sweets to keep you going during the hike. Also to give people a heads up, I’m going to be bringing my camera to take some photos along the way, as I think it’s a great way to help us remember the hike and the interactions we have along the way. For the fashion forward individuals, do with this information what you will 🙂. For those who don’t want to be photographed, please let me know and I’ll make sure I don’t take any photos of you. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask here or privately.
