Wounded, Displaced, Found: Meeting Christ in Suffering Lent is a season that invites us to walk more closely with Christ in His suffering, to confront the wounds of our lives, and to discover the hope that comes through encountering Him personally. In this powerful evening of testimony, Jessica and Karam will share how Christ met them in very different circumstances and transformed their lives. Jessica, raised Catholic in London, will speak about rediscovering her faith after searching for fulfilment elsewhere, and how a renewed encounter with Christ in 2022 led her to mission, service, and evangelisation. Karam’s journey is marked by war, persecution, and displacement. Growing up as a Christian in Iraq during times of violence, he was eventually forced to flee his homeland. Through exile and suffering, he encountered Jesus in a deeply personal way, discovering a new understanding of suffering, hope, and the presence of Christ in the midst of pain. As we journey through Lent toward the Cross and the Resurrection, this evening invites us to reflect on how we too can encounter Christ in the deepest parts of our lives.
