Fr Richard Ounsworth will be leading a day on the historical Jesus. We'll be exploring: What kind of history do the four Gospels provide? Are they reliable? What is the relationship between the ‘historical Jesus’ and the ‘Christ of faith’? We’ll explore the Gospels as literature, history and testimony, and also look in more detail at the passion narrative: why did Jesus get crucified? What would a historian conclude about the causes and significance of Jesus’s death? How might these historical conclusions challenge or confirm the Catholic faith? The day will include talks, workshops, prayer, fellowship, and discussion, and lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but booking is essential.
