April Hike + Eastertide Pub Celebration

About This Event

The aim is to start the hike from Egham station at 08:30. I will be taking a direct train from London Waterloo to Egham station, departing at 07:50 and arriving at Egham station at 08:27. Feel free to join me at London Waterloo, or meet at Egham station or at any other point in between. The hike itself should take roughly 3/3.5 hours, planning for a total of 4/5 hours including breaks. This means the hike will end at roughly 13:00. I’d suggest bringing plenty of water as always, and at least something light to eat during the hike. For those who are SURE they would like to have lunch at the pub after, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly and make a reservation at a pub well in advance. For those who don’t want to have lunch at the pub or only want to join for drinks, please bring a packed lunch. This is NOT a circular route, meaning we will not return to the starting point / Egham station. Instead, we will end at Windsor Castle (then off to a nearby pub for those who want to join 👀), where there are two nearby train stations (Windsor & Eton Central and Windsor & Eton Riverside). Therefore, it is NOT advisable to book an open return ticket unless you plan on walking/travelling back to Egham station after finishing the hike. I plan on taking a train from Windsor & Eton Central to Slough, then a National Rail or Elizabeth line train back to London from Slough, but feel free to make your own arrangements to get back home. N.B. This is a self-formulated route, where we may end up not being able to visit all the places on the route depending on venue/landmark availability and private road access on the day (e.g. The Royal Lodge and All Saints Chapel). This means it may be a shorter hike and take less time than planned, though not dramatically so. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask here or privately.
