An independent film society in London (UK) devoted to screening films about grace, bad decisions, doomed romances, provincial humiliation, and to the increasingly eccentric belief that a film may still proceed at a speed comprehensible to the average mammal and concern itself with matters such as the occasional collapse of a human soul, rather than hurtling immediately into a sequence involving six explosions, fourteen quips, a morally uplifting side-character with branding potential, and a concluding aerial battle designed by a committee of touch-deprived "consultants" imprisoned somewhere beneath Los Angeles and force-fed audience-retention statistics until all remaining traces of the inner life had been destroyed, finally, once and for all.
